We all know that the traction head is fixed, so how to seek a lightweight body? We must start with the trailer, especially in the northern areas where overloading is serious. The standard load is 55 tons. Appropriately reducing the trailer’s weight has no effect on the trailer’s carrying capacity!
To reduce the vehicle’s weight, the editor believes that we can start from the following aspects:
First: Use vacuum tires. Each vacuum tire is 25KG lighter than a steel tire. 20 tires can be 0.5 tons lighter.
Second: Light semi-trailers use new materials, such as manganese steel, etc., and the body weight can be reduced by half a ton to one ton! And it does not affect the strength and carrying capacity of the trailer.
Third: shorten the length of the trailer body. Flatbeds in the south may not be suitable for pulling light goods, but in the north, heavy-duty vehicles such as coal and iron powder can appropriately shorten the length of the trailer body. Our trailers are generally 13 meters long, but in my opinion, some people have started to make 12 meters long, and some even make 11 meters long. It is not a problem to reduce a few hundred kilograms! However, practice has proved that tractors with short bodies are more likely to overturn than 13-meter bodies in poor road conditions such as Shenmu! A short body must be loaded high, and a high center of gravity of the vehicle will inevitably increase the possibility of overturning.
Fourth: Use good axles. Good axles can reduce the weight of the body and slide far. The same distribution can save fuel.
Fifth: Add a deflector to reduce wind resistance. The design of the deflector is not only beautiful, but also can really achieve the effect of saving fuel.
