Tips for daily maintenance of trailer braking system

  1. After receiving a new car, you should check whether the ABS is working normally. Make sure it is working properly before proceeding to the vehicle management office to inspect the vehicle. You still need to check the working status of the ABS before inspecting the car every year to ensure it is working properly before proceeding with the inspection.
  2. Regularly replace and clean the tractor dryer and filter to prevent dirt in the pipeline from damaging the ABS.
  3. Clean the accumulated water in the air tanks of the main vehicle and trailer every 15 days in winter (monthly in summer). Especially in winter, you must pay attention. Otherwise, the water in the pipeline will freeze and the valve will not operate, causing safety accidents or impacts. Use performance.
  4. Every time you maintain the axle or replace the brake shoe, promptly remove dust or oil on the surface of the sensor and ring gear, and keep the front of the ring gear or sensor clean.
  5. Every time you maintain the axle or replace the brake shoe, after cleaning the dust or oil on the sensor surface, push the sensor to the ring gear direction to ensure that the sensor can contact the ring gear after the wheel is installed. When the wheel moves, since the bushing is elastic, the sensor will automatically retreat, thereby maintaining a good working gap (less than 0.75mm).
  6. When replacing or maintaining the sensor, pay attention to whether the clamping force between the sensor and the elastic bushing is appropriate (the clamping force should be 120~200N). If it is too small, the elastic bushing must be replaced.
  7. Check the ABS wiring harnesses and air circuits every week for wear, interference, peeling and aging, and leakage of electricity and air.
  8. Check and clean the dust, rust and other dirt inside each plug connector every month.
  9. Check the ABS regulators and ECU fixing bolts and nuts every month to see if they are loose and tighten them in time.

ABS only works when emergency braking causes the wheels to lock. In layman’s terms, when ABS works, it is like the driver “braking” quickly and frequently, but the frequency of the driver’s “braking” cannot be compared with ABS anyway. ABS can change 3 to 5 times per second. . When a vehicle equipped with ABS encounters emergency braking in a dangerous situation, you should quickly depress the clutch and then apply the foot brake hard, while still turning the steering wheel to avoid obstacles.
If the ABS light comes on while the vehicle is driving, it means that the ABS system is malfunctioning, but conventional braking is still effective and the vehicle can still be driven safely. Nowadays, more and more customers are modifying the trailer air circuit by themselves. Due to improper modification, the original braking system is destroyed, causing many safety and quality accidents.
