Wind turbine equipment mainly includes wind turbine blades, nacelles, hubs and towers. Each component is an oversized object for ordinary road transportation and needs to be transported by professional vehicles. As for wind turbine blades, their super long length has become the main feature that distinguishes them from other wind turbine equipment. Considering the particularity of wind turbine blades, at present, domestic mountain wind farms generally use semi-trailers combined with high-power tractors to complete the transportation of wind turbine blades.

1.Tractor
Semi-trailer tractors are the power source for wind turbine equipment transportation. The power and other performance of the tractor directly affect the climbing performance of the wind turbine transport vehicle. There are many types of semi-trailer tractors on the market, ranging from 10t to 300t according to the total traction mass, and divided into domestic vehicles and imported vehicles according to the manufacturer.

2.Transportation methods
① Ordinary Flatbed transporter
This transportation method generally uses an ordinary pull-out semi-trailer to transport wind turbine blades. The characteristic of this vehicle is that it can be longitudinally extended to adapt to the transportation of blades of different lengths. It can be transported directly from the manufacturer to the wind turbine position, but because the vehicle is too long, it is difficult to turn.
② Special vehicle transportation
This transportation method generally uses a special blade transporter with blade lifting-rotation-hydraulic rear wheel steering. This special vehicle can lift the blades and rotate itself 360 degrees during driving through hydraulic control to avoid various obstacles during transportation (mountain slopes, trees, houses, bridges, tunnels, etc.), thereby greatly reducing the total length of the blade transport vehicle and improving the cornering performance.
